by Bugs in our Backyard is a project that’s been in the works for many years. I lived and worked in the DC area for 4 years, and I was amazed that once I knew what to look for, bugs and their host plants were everywhere. The research being conducted now on soapberry bug wing polyphenism is now generously supported by the National Science Foundation, and a portion of those funds support Bugs in our Backyard and related outreach activities.
